Charlotte Gilman was a prominent American feminist, sociologist, write and lecturer for social reform, and in this book, (first published at the turn of the century) Gilman discusses the role of women in the home, arguing for changes in the practices of child-raising and housekeeping to alleviate pressures from women and thus allow them greater opportunities for roles in the workplace and public life.
The condition of the book is generally ok. The cover has several minor scuffs, and some light wear and rubbing along the edges and corners, but the spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
