We Remember D-Day, British and American Eye-Witness Accounts from the Dart Area and Normandy

We Remember D-Day, British and American Eye-Witness Accounts from the Dart Area and Normandy, compiled by Ray Freeman

Booklet published by the Dartmouth History Research Group in 1994, 32 pages. A4 size booklet (S5715)

This booklet gathers together the memories of a cross section of people who were involved, in one way or another, in the great events of June 1944. It includes contributions from civilians who lived beside the river Dart, British servicemen and women who came here to take part in the massive preparations, people of the South Hams who were turned out of their homes and farms to allow practice landings to take place on Slapton beach, and the American and Allied forces who filled the landing craft for the assault on the great day.
It is a unique and fascinating collection of personal stories about a dramatic period of the war by those who were actually there......
The booklet is illustrated throughout with lots of black and white photographs

Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs and blemishes, but the staple spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
