War-Time Interlude of a Temporary Soldier 1941-1945, by Forbes Wallace
Forbes Wallace, F.M.S. Police, The Black Watch (T.A.R.O) attached 5th Bn The Royal Norfolk Regiment
Published privately by the author in September 1980, 104 pages. Hardback (S7485WSOJ)
This book provides a fascinating account of the experiences of the author during the Second World War...
From the opening chapter: During the Autumn of 1977, while going through some old papers I came across the diary which I had kept, both during the Malayan campaign and also during the time when I was a POW in Singapore. This diary was very much an 'abridged version' of the original, which I had destroyed for security reasons. From this abridged diary I have made some jottings for this 'war-time interlude'
The condition of the book is generally good. The red cover boards have one or two minor scuffs, and some very light bumping along the edges and corners, but the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
