From the inside front fly leaf: This volume of the Regimental History bridges the gap between the publication of the 2-volume Regimental History by C. R. B. Barrett published in 1914 and "The Seventh & Three Enemies," Brigadier Davy's account of the services of the Regiment in the Second World War. The book describes life in India before and during the early part of the Great War. The Regiment's part in the closing stages of the Mesopotamian Campaign including the Battle of Khan Baghdadi and its services between the wars. Contents include:

The Ending Of An Era
Years Of Frustration
Campaign In Mesopotamia
Desert Journey
Operations On The Euphrates, March, 1918
Mesopotamian Summer
Autumn Manuvres
Operations On The Tigris, October, 1918
Years Of Transition
Appendices
Nominal Roll Of Officers, October, 1911
Nominal Roll Of Officers, December, 1914
Nominal Roll Of Officers, November, 1917
General Brooking's Force About Sahlliya On 25th March, 1918

The condition of the book is generally good. The dust jacket is tatty and blemished, with considerable discoloration, and nibbling, bumping and wear along the edges and corners. The blue cover boards are intact, although there is a small area of bumping in the top right hand corner. Inside, the spine is tight and intact and all pages are intact and bound. Rusting from the paperclip holding the letter in place has caused blemishing to some adjacent pages.
