The Women's Suffrage Movement in and around Richmond and Twickenham, by Gerald and Joan Heath

Booklet published by the Twickenham Local History Society in 2003, 32 pages. A5 size booklet (N6154X1)

This booklet provides a fascinating account of the Suffrage movement in and around Richmond and Twickenham in south-west London, and as well as sections on events between 1906 and 1914, there are also sections on the Kew Gardens Outrages, the train at Teddington, the Hurst Park Racecourse Stands, and the burning of the Elms at Hampton.

From the introduction: A district as extensive as that bounded by Kew in the north to Hampton Court in the South might be expected to provide a recognizable, if hazy, reflection of events in the country as a whole. This was certainly true of the Women's Suffrage Movement...

Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs and blemishes, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
