The Story of the King's (Liverpool Regiment), by TR Threlfall, with Regimental Note

Published by Country Life in 1916, 214 pages. Hardback (SSTQWSO)

There is an inscription on the first inside page which reads: "Pte Meakin 97331, 25th K.L.R, with compliments from". This is followed by an ink stamp which reads "The Kings (L'Pool Regt) Visiting Committee, Liverpool Civi Service League, G3 Exchange Buildings Liverpool", and then a handwritten date "March 1919"

Also included is a folded piece of paper which is torn almost all the way along the folded crease. The note is addressed to Private Meakin, and explains this copy has been given to him by the Kings Liverpool Regiment Visiting Committee, along with a safety razor!

The condition of the book is generally ok. The red cover boards have several scuffs, blemishes and creases, and wear and bumping along the edges and corners, and there is considerable foxing to the inside covers and first and last few inside pages, with further foxing and yellowing throughout. All pages are intact and bound, but the binding is becoming exposed in places (most noticeably between pages 48 and 49 - as shown in one of the photographs).
