A ketch was a two masted sailing craft, and the main distinguishing characteristic of a ketch was that the forward of the two masts is larger than the after mast. Historically the ketch was a square-rigged vessel, and was most commonly used as a trading vessel and fishing boat in and around the coasts of Northern Europe. This book charts the history of one such vessel, tracing her entire life from the 1920's up until she was finally set alight in 1964.

From the rear side cover: This book tells of the last Westcountry ketch to be built. It is a story told against a background of the
dlsappearing need for such coastal traders as both road and rail opened up the more remote areas of the South West. Eighteen photographs, three news reports, letters.... reveal the 43 years of the Dido C in a wealth of surprising detail

Condition of the book is generally very good. The cover is clean and tidy, the spine is tight and intact and all pages are clean, unblemished, intact and tightly bound.
