In 1890 the engineering firm W.H.Allen (at the time based in London) brought twenty acres of land west of Bedford town centre to establish the 'Queens Engineering Works', as well as to provide housing for the firms employees. The works opened in 1894) and was named in honour of the monarch at the time - Queen Victoria.
The condition of the book is generally very good. The dust jacket is clean and bright, with one or two very minor scuffs and some light wear along the edges and corners. The spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Not price clipped.
