This booklet provides a detailed account of the eleven day siege of Reading during the First English Civil War, and the context in which it took place. The town was held by a Royalist garrison of around 3,000 men, and on the 19th April 1643 a parliamentary army under he command of the Earl of Essex lay siege and began bombarding the town. The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two minor scuffs, but the staple spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover.
