The Royal Marines and Hong Kong - Over 150 Years from 1840-1997, by S Richardson

Privately published by Royal Marines Historical Society in 1997, 100 pages. Paperback (N5569)

This book provides a fascinating history of the Royal Marines in Hong Kong, and charts their role in the colony over 150 years. Chapters include The China Wars 1840-1900, HMS Tamar and Stonecutters Island, Hong Kong 1898-1924, Between The World Wars, Liberation From Japanese Occupation, From Crown Colony To City State, Epilogue, Appendix A Royal Marines Deaths Recorded In Hong Kong, Appendix B Memoirs of Lt Gen Sir S B Ellis relating to the founding of Hong Kong 1841

The condition of the book is generally good. The cover has some minor scuffs and blemishes, but the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover.

Please note the booklet was produced and published privately, and so has an 'amateur' feel about - i.e all the photographs are photocopy quality. But this doesn't detract from the fascinating contents!
