The Role of Women in Singapore, by Sumiko Kazeno
The Role of Women in Singapore, by Sumiko Kazeno, subtitled 'Collaboration and Conflict Between Capitalism and Asian Values'
Paperback published by Kazeno Shoboh in 2004, 271 pages (S8295BWSO)
From the prologue: This thesis is concerned with the formation of state policy on the role of women in Singapore since the 1960's, particularly in relation to the labour force and the family under the impact of the countrys economic development initiated and mediated by the state. It seeks to investigate the evolution of Singaporean state policies that accomplished strict social control under the surface of the outstanding economic success termed 'a miracle'.....
The condition of the book is generally very good. The covers have one or two minor scuffs and blemishes, but the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small bump along the bottom edge and this has caused some creasing along the edge of the first 20 or so inside pages.
