This book is a fascinating account of the origins and use of defences in and around Eastbourne to ward against the Napoleonic threat, and also provides details of the soldiers and military units which manned them during that period. Chapters include:

The condition of the book is generally excellent. The covers are clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover.
