Moreover it is a work of painstaking accuracy and meticulous detail with regard to dates, names, tonnage, armament and movement of ships. The index to this storehouse of naval material was prepared by C. G. Toogood under the supervision of T. A. Brassay and is arranged in four parts - Briish and Foreign Ships, Naval Officers, Military Officers and Naval Actions. For the purpose of serious study it is an indispensable guide to the material that exists and where it can be found with the minimum of trouble.

The condition of the book is generally good. The duct jacket has one or two minor scuffs but is clean and bright, the spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a previous owners label on the inside front cover.
