From the introduction: The aim of the story is twofold, firstly to give a graphic account of my version of the Hartlepool Monkey Legend, which is of course only one of many ways to tell it. Secondly, having watched quite a lot of television lately I couldn't help but see some of the "Dodgv" programmes about such things as alien abductions, flying saucers, crop circles, etc. The plot of most of these shows is so thin and transparent that I thought it might be a good idea to present our monkey as if it were one of their "Mysteries". It is not meant to be taken seriously and I hope it gives offence to nobody. So read it in a light hearted way and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
The condition of the booklet is generally good. The cover has some minor scuffs and blemishes, and some light nibbling and wear along the edges and corners, but the staple spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
