The Middle Way, by Harold Macmillan

The Middle Way, by Harold Macmillan
Subtitled 'A Study of the Problem of Economic and Social Progress in a Free and Democratic Society'.

Published by Macmillan and Co in 1938, Hardback, 382 pages. (S8295YWSO)

In this book Harold Macmillan, Conservative politician and MP (and future Prime Minister) advocates a broadly centrist political philosophy both domestically and internationally. Harold had resigned the Tory whip in 1936 over the Italian invasion of Abyssinia, and during this period he was politically out of step with then Conservative PM Stanley Baldwin.

The condition of the book is generally good. The cover boards have some minor scuffs, and light wear along the edges and corners, but the spine is tight and intact and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a name in pen on the first inside page.
