Booklet published by the Twickenham Local History Society in 1987, 40 pages. A5 size booklet (N6296)

From the foreword: The history of local affairs and houses over long periods, and this account starts about 900 years ago, can be very frustrating. In the early days records and documents were never very numerous, and few have survived or been identified, whether in public records offices and libraries, or in private collections, or even still to be found in chests and lofts. In the case of the Manor House, relevant sources and documents steadily increased over the years, and there are many documents still extant and in very widely spread collections of documents, but there are still many gaps. Equally there are periods, notably in the 17th century, when there is a plethora of head leases, sub leases, reversionary leases and documents of many kinds which are confusing indeed. However, sufficient have come to light over the last ten years of search to enable a consistent account of the house and its owners and occupants now to be submitted.

Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs and blemishes, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
