The Diaries of Percy Wilden Judd 1892-1982, edited by Roger and Jenny Mallion and Ian Grimes
Published by the Marden History Group, 32 pages. A4 size spiral bound booklet (N6766X1)
Percy was born at Southon House in Marden in Kent, and during the First World War he joined up with the Royal Naval Air Service and kept a short diary. This booklet prints his diary, which covered the period between 1917 and 1919, and which is almost entirely made up of single sentence entries for each day, where he records a snippet of information or an observation or recounts what he's been doing, such as the following (note not every day has an entry):
Saturday 1st June: Work until 10pm. Go straight on guard. Looking after B Flight Ltnt Cox's bus all day.
Friday 28th June: We do alot of bombing. About 30 machines patrol each morning. I am sitting in a Camel writing this.
The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The covers are clean and bright, the spiral spine is tight and intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Has a small price sticker on rear side cover. Also, please note the front cover and inside cover are counted for pagination purposes as pages 1 and 2, so page numbering in the booklet begins with the introduction on page '3'.
