This book provides a fascinating account of the castles in South-West Wales, and is illustrated throughout with lots of small black and white photographs, maps and floor plans.

From the rear side cover: This book is a comprehensive guide to the history and architecture of 37 stone castles and fortified houses dating from the 12th century to the 16th century in the area now called Dyfed, but which from the 13th century until 1974 formed the counties of Cardigan, Carmarthen and Pembroke. An introductory section is folloew by two gazetteers illustrated with many plans and photographs by the author. There are also two maps and two lists with brief details of about 100 mottes and ringworks which are relics of wooden castles of the period 1093 to 1225

The condition of the book is generally excellent. The covers are clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is an old price printed and small price sticker on the rear side cover.
