The Bounds of Selwood, by Michael McGarvie
Booklet published by the Frome Society for Local Study in 1977, 27 pages. A5 size booklet (N4172)
Selwood Forest is an area of woodland that lies on the borders between Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire in south west England. But in the anglo-saxon and medieval period the forest was far more substantial and covered a much greater area than it does today. This short booklet provides a very scholarly assessment of the borders of the forest in the Middle Ages, and includes a full page map titled 'Bounds of the Royal Forest of Selwood AD 1300'
Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The covers are clean and bright, the staple spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Please note there is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
