The author, son of an officer of the battalion, fully describes their part in the battles for Mametz, Montauban, Ginchy and Beaumont Hamel. The platoon photographs of the Original Pals are reproduced in full, together with biographical detail of many of the participants, the Roll of Honour and details of the Honours and Awards to the battalion. The condition of the book is generally very good. The covers have one or two very minor scuffs but are clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a very small amount of yellowing to the extreme edges of the inside pages throughout
