Street Names of Darlaston and Bentley, by Malcolm Timmins

Published by the Walsall Local History Centre in 1993, 100 pages. (S6060)

From the rear side cover: Street names are the gateway to a wealth of fascinating history

Where was the bear dragged by the cart horse? Who was Black Sal and who did she wave her wooden leg at? Where was the hollow haunted by an evil spirit?

The answers to these and a multitude of other intriguing questions can be found in this book, which covers Darlaston and district (encompassing Darlaston, Bentley and Moxley). The book is illustrated throughout with lots of black and white photographs and maps, and is arranged in an A to Z format, with each street in the area covered given its own entry

Condition of the book is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs, and some light nibbling along the edges, but the spine is tight and intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
