Standing Orders of the 1st Battalion The King's Regiment

Published by the regiment in India in 1933, and printed by The Calcutta General Printing Company. Hardback, 86 pages (between all paginated pages there are blank pages).

The book has the same circular regimental stamp on the inside front and rear side covers, and the first and last inside pages. The stamp reads: 'C Company, 1st Bn The Kings Regiment' and the No (45) and date (15/11/33) has been hand written.

The condition of the book is generally very poor. The covers have lots of scuffs and creases, and there are several rips and tears to the outside spine. The title of the book on the front cover is also very faded. Inside, there are a couple of names on the first inside page, and a stain along the bottom left corner of the inside front cover and right hand corner of title page, and this staining extends through to the first several pages. In addition, the first 8 pages (along with the blank pages inbetween all numbered pages) have become loose from the binsing, although the string binding is just about holding the pages attached to the main body of the book. All other pages are intact and tightly bound.
