This book is a detailed registry containing information on hundreds of Scaffies (covering the early days of the small BF registered boats BF2 to BF 2064 and providing an invaluable reference for local historians). The book contains many previously unseen photographs and a detailed history of each boat is included, plus information on the methods of fishing used during that period.
Almost all of the book is taken up with the BF Registry entries, and an example of one of them is given below:
BF 242, Mary Dunstan SCAFF. Wood Clinker. Class 1. 15 Tons. Keel 32ft. Method of Fishing: Nets. Crew 6. Two Lugsails, Mizzen and Jib. Year Built 1864. Cert of registry 23/3/1869. Owner: William Jappy Law, Buckie. Master: William Jappy Law. Vessel broken up on 22nd May 1883
Condition of the book is generally very good. The covers have one or two very minor scuffs and blemishes, but the ringbinding is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Their is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
