Sandstone and Mortar - More of Old Wallasey, by Noel E. Smith
Published privately by the author in 1992, 118 pages. A4 size booklet (A10158S6058)
This book, which includes a few black and white photographs, provides a fascinating history of the Wirral town of Wallasey over decades gone by.
From the introduction: With the passage of town, there is little left of Old Wallasey. Little by little, interesting old buildings of various kinds have been demolished to make room for houses, shops and other projects. In this book I have written about the remaining places of interest (especially the old stone cottages), together with the old shops, times and customs of the early part of the century, with the emphasis on the period between the two World Wars.
Condition of the book is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs but is clean and bright, the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound
