Remembering Spain - Italian Anarchist Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, by Umberto Marzocchi
Published by the Kate Sharpley Library in 2005, 26 pages. Used pamphlet (N3236)
Umberto Marzocchi was a veteran of the struggle against Mussolini’s blackshirts and had fought against the rise of Italian Fascism, and when the Spanish Civil War began he was involved in the supply of arms to Spanish anarchists. He then began fighting in Spain for the Republican Government, and alongside other Italian anarchist exiles he fought on the Aragon front from October 1936 until 1937. This fascinating booklet is his account of those important and bloody days. It also covers the counter-revolution of May 1937 in Barcelona and the Communists’ murder of Camillo Berneri.
Condition of the booklet is generally excellent. The cover is clean and tidy, the spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
