Remember Them - A Commemoration of the World War II War dead of Earby and District, by Robert Abel
Published by the Earby and District Local History Society, 80 pages. A5 size booklet (N3604)
This booklet provides a detailed account of the servicemen from the Lancashire town of Earby and the surrounding area who lost their lives in the Second World War. The areas covered include Earby itself, as well as Salterforth, Kelbrook and Thornton-in-Craven.
As much information on each man is given where known, including their family background, their employment, their service record and the regiments they fought in, where they died, and where they are buried. All this makes it an invaluable reference for people interested in the Second World War, and especially the genealogy and family histories of the Earby and district men who died during the conflict
Condition of the booklet is generally excellent. The cover is clean and tidy, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. The right hand side of the booklet does curve gently upwards
