Booklet Published by the Portsmouth WEA Local History Group, 40 pages. A5 size booklet (N3733)
From the first inside page: This booklet tells the story of the people of Portsmouth in the Second World War in their own words. It is not based on official records but on the vivid memories of those devastating days when the whole fabric of the city suffered the most traumatic upheaval in it's history. This booklet has two sections - the first continues with the story of the part played by women and their experiences during the war, the second the experiences of evacuees.
The booklet is illustrated with several fascinating black and white photographs
Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The covers have one or two very minor scuffs but are clean and bright, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound
