Ponteland is a village situated in Northumberland near Newcastle upon Tyne, and the name means island in the Pont (the river which flows through the village). It got it's name as the area originally consisted of a small piece of solid ground around St. Mary's church and the old bridge, surrounded by marshland, but the marshland has long since been drained and built upon

This fascinating booklet provides a history of the village throughout the twentieth century, and is illustrated throughout with lots of wonderful black and white photographs (showing the places, people and buildings of the village from the 1900's onwards).

Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover is clean and tidy, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
