Organised Labour in Brighton in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, by Andy Durr

Published privately in May 1980, 90 pages. A4 size booklet (S5823YWSO)

From the introduction: In the following three draft papers I have tried to give an impression of organised labour in Brighton in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The three essays include:

  • Brighton's unskilled - strikes, politics and the trade unions 1890-1894
  • Brighton's Labour Party - municipal elections 1890-1906
  • Brighton's unemployed 1886-1906 - municipal relief works

Please note this booklet was produced privately, and so has an 'amateur' feel to it - but this in no way detracts from the contents!

Condition of the booklet is generally ok. The cover has some scuffs and creases, and some light nibbling and creasing along the edges and corners, and the rear side cover is completely detached, but the staple spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and bound. Their is some light yellowing to the inside pages throughout
