On The Up - A History of Cambridge United Football Club 1988-1991, by Paul M. Daw

Published privately by the author in 1991, 48 pages. Large A4 size booklet (S6717)

This booklet charts the history of Cambridge United FC during three glorious seasons, when the club climbed from the bottom tier of English football to the Second Division (the equivalent of the Championship today). Indeed, in the season following this, the club achieved their highest ever finish - 5th in League 2 (if they had just managed two places higher, they would have been an inaugral member of the Premier League!).

During this period the club also had some incredible cup runs - reaching the 6th round of the FA cup two years running! This book charts the club's performances over this time, and includes several black and white photographs, as well as tables recording all the stats and figures for the club and its players over these years.

The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two minor scuffs and blemishes, and some light nibbling along the edges and corners, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
