Nurdin and Peacock, A History 1810-1977, by Katherine Baker
Published by Nurdin and Peacock in 1979, 74 pages. Softback (S6763)
In 1810 a french egg merchant arrived and settled in London. His name was Paul Augustus Nurdin, and he went on to establish a thriving business importing and distributing eggs that was to become known as Nurdin and Peacock. Over the years the company grew and became one of the largest provisions wholesalers (specialising in eggs and butter), and in the 1950's it was one of the pioneers of the Cash and Carry business model.
The book charts the history of the company from those early days all the way up to the 1970's, and it is illustrated throughout with several black and white photographs.
Condition of the book is generally ok. The cover has some minor scuffs and blemishes, and some light nibbling and wear along the edges and corners, but the spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Their is some very faint yellowing to the inside page edges throughout
