Published by Lamplight in 2007, 48 pages. Rectangular Paperback - 17cm by 24cm (N5659)

This book is a fascinating pictorial history of the railway line between Didcot and Banbury, and includes over 40 black and white photographs (one to each page), showing the stations, tracks and locomotives of the railway over past years....

From the rear side cover: The railway from Didcot to Banbury has significant historic associations involved in the early years of the Great Western Railway's broad gauge. Over a distance of some thirty-six miles along the Thames and Cherwell Valleys it ran from 1844 until 1948. Then as Western Region with steam until 1966.

This book provides an illustration of how the line looked in the latter years before it altered considerably with closures. It includes many photographs not seen before, revealing a time when all of the stations were fully staffed and serving the many villages along the route. Stations like Kidlington, Bletchingdon, Fritwell & Somerton, Aynho and Kings Sutton. Names once on the railway map and timetable and now a part of history.

The condition of the book is excellent. The covers are clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
