Loughton A Hundred Years Ago, by William Chapman Wlaler, edited by Richard Morris and Chris Pond

Published by the Loughton and District Historical Society in 2014, 42 pages. A5 size booklet (N4852)

Originally recorded by a local historian over a century ago, this booklet provides a fascinating account of many of the streets and houses in Loughton at that time, and offers a wonderful glimpse into what life was like in the area all those years ago....

Loughton is fortunate to have had William Walker as its historian. By painstaking labour over many years, he established a great deal of the history of Loughton... and why he started to record the details of the the area. Many of the houses Waller describes have since been demolished, and some have been converted to other uses....

The booklet includes eight pages of black and white photographs

The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs, but the spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
