John Brown, 1800-1859
Published by Kersplebedeb, 24 pages. Booklet (N3598)
This pamphlet examines the life and achievements of John Brown and his band, who took up arms in Kansas against the American government to end slavery. Today they are largely remembered as deranged fantatics, but this essay argues that they were nothing of the sort - they were revolutionaries who belived in high ideals and fought for a better society. The pamphlet includes a tribute to Brown by author Terry Bisson, and a bibliography by the anti-imperialist activist Matt Meyer.
Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has some minor scuffs and blemishes, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound
