From the introduction: 2010 marked a major achievement for James Bevan Coaches of Lydney when the company moved to a brand new purpose-built garage complex on the Mead Lane industrial estate on the edge ofthis small but important town in Gloucestershire's Forest of Dean.

The Bevan family's involvement with coaching stretches back over 80 years, and now encompasses a third generation of this Forest family. The Lydney company in fact traces its history back even further, having been established by Herbert Letheren using horse-drawn conveyances at the beginning on the 20th century, and moving on to introduce one of the first motor buses in Gloucestershire.

This booklet traces the history of James Bevan Coaches back along both of its roots: the Letheren business and the Bevan family, the two coming together when James and his father purchased the Lydney company in 1967. James Bevan has continued a strong family tradition of service to the local community, and in further pursuance of this ethos has represented Lydney East as a Forest of Dean District Councillor since 2005; James thus follows in his father's footsteps - Roy Bevan had also served as a county councillor, district councillor and local magistrate - in addition to running a coach company...

The booklet is illustrated throughout with lots of black and white and colour photographs of the vehicles themselves.

The condition of the booklet is generally excellent. The covers are clean and bright, the staple spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
