Booklet published by Leonie Press in 2004, 60 pages. A5 size booklet (S6496)

From the rear side cover: Local historians William K Blinkhorn and Mavis Abraham have expanded upon an original work by the late Jack Knowles to produce this booklet. It goes back to 16C and 17C records to list the alehouse keepers in both towns and then examines the history of the past and present inns that were situated there, giving the names of their licensees where known. The text is enhanced with illustrations. The material in this booklet was originally published in 1988 by the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley's Iibrarles Division. It has been updated and published by Leonie Press in order that the information should continue to be available to new readers.

Condition of the booklet is generally excellent. The covers are clean and bright, the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is an old price printed and a small price sticker, both on the rear side cover.
