This book is a fascinating and immensley detailed record of the industrial railways and locomotives of Essex, and as the county is primarly an agricultural area many of the industrial railways found their are associated with farming and its products (such as sugar).
The book includes 372 pages of text (which includes 35 pages of maps), and there are also an additional 80 pages of plate black and white photographs to the rear of the book, with two photographs per page, and thus around 160 photo's in total, showing different locomotives.
