The booklet is packed full with people's memories, personal accounts and reminiscences, and is illustrated throughout with several small black and white photographs. There are sections on the railway in the area, the Station, Gosport Engine Shed, Freight handling and working the yard, wagons, the Lee on the Solent line, Isle of Wight traffic, Lees Lane, Queen Victoria and the Royal Clarence Yard, Michelin Railbus, working at Gosport Station, tran workings, wartime, and more!

From the inside front cover: I Remember Gosport when... How many times have you heard the above phrase? And how often have you said if only I had taken more notice of what Mum or Dad or Auntie or Uncle had said about their childhood. Back in 1972 a lecturer from Southampton University, Geoff Allcock, did just that, he took notice and he also recorded. In this collection you can read the memories he recorded. Memories from Elizabeth Belben, Ted Gates and Norman Brown. There are also memories from recordings made with Charlie Morey in the mid 1980's plus memories from an interview with another local resident David Jacobs around the same time. Most of these memories are railway based and a lot are centred on the working life of Gosport station.... I hope you enjoy this wander into the past!

The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The covers are clean and bright, the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover.
