This book provides a fascinating brief social history of Mortlake brewery in Richmond upon Thames as seen through the eyes of Watney’s house journal Hand in Hand. The journal began in 1919 when 600 people were employed at Mortlake Brewery, and it was the dominant employer in the local community for many decades, and this book covers the period from 1920 up until the 1960's.
