Gurkhas in the Indian Mutiny 1857-1859
Large A4 size booklet, 46 pages, with printing on one side only (N4873)
Please note: This booklet was printed, produced and bound privately, and so lacks the 'finish' of a proffessional publication (i.e the photographs that illustrate the booklet are photocopy quality). But none of this detracts from the fascinating and detailed information the booklet contains, and it remains a must read/reference for anyone interested in the subject.
This short booklet provides a brief account of the the Gurkha's during the Indian Mutiny, and their contribution to the British Army's campaign during that conflict....
Their are sections on the background to the Indian Mutiny, the 2nd King Edward VII's Own Goorkhas the Sirmoor Rifles, the siege of Delhi, the Great Rebel Attack on the Festival of Eed, Honours and Awards, 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles, Subsequent Operations, and the Effects of the Indian Mutiny on Gurkha Regiments
The booklet is illustrated throughout with several photographs and maps.
Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The transparent plastic cover has one or two very minor scuffs and creases, but the spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Their is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
