Goethe & Steiner, by Arnold Freeman (Written for the Bi-centenary of Goethe's Birth)
Small booklet - c.12cm by 18cm, 20 pages, published by the Sheffield Educational Settlement in 1947. (S8295WSO)
Signed and dated on the second page, reading 'Edith Freeman 12 July 1947'
From the second page: Goethe was born at Frankfort on the Twenty eighth of August, 1749. How shall we celebrate the Bi-centenary of his birth? Would not his own desire be that we should make renewed effort to understand what he had to say to us? I offer these pages as a contribution to a World Goethe-Festival, conceived in this sense.
The condition of the small booklet is generally ok. The cover has several scuffs, and nibbling and wear along the edges and corners, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There are a couple of ink blemishes on the rear side cover, as well as a couple of names written in pen.
