From Manchester to Spain, by Bernard Barry

Published by the Working Class Movement Library in 2009, 58 pages. Slim paperback (N5360)

From the foreword: Since the publication by the Greater Manchester International Brigade Memorial Committee in 1983 of the pamphlet 'Greater Manchester Men who fought in Spain' continuous research into the actions and the personalities of Manchester, in particular during the years 1936 to 1939 and since, both in Spain and at home, has resulted in the ever expanding archive on the subject held in the Working Class Movement Library.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the stand down of the International Brigade in Spain in October 1938 it was felt that a new pamphlet incorporating such research would give a fuller picture of Manchester Brigaders and the material support from the people of Manchester to Spain in its struggle against the fascist Franco.

Contents include: The Manchester Volunteers, Aid to Spain, Post War, and a Roll of Honour. The book is also illustrated throughout with several black and white photographs

The condition of the book is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs but is clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
