This book is the fascinating memoir of a young pilot with the Royal Air Force in the 1920's.
The book covers Wheelers induction into RAF flight training school in 1925 and continues up to his first overseas posting in 1929. The book offers a wonderful insight into what life was like in the RAF in those years, as well as offering valauable information on many of the service aircraft of the day - including Avro 504's, Bristol Fighters, Sopwith Snipes, Siskins, de Havilland Hyenas, Vickers Vimy Bomber, Vickers Vespa, Gloster Grebes and many others. Includes several black and white photographs.
Ex-Library. Condition is generally poor, but it makes for a perfect reading copy. The dust jacket is tatty, with bubbling, several scuffs and blemishes, and some nibbling along the edges. Also has a small label on the outside spine. Another label on the inside front cover, a stamp and area of tipexing on the title page, and a missing (blank) page at the very start of the book. All other pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound
