Booklet published by the Alfreton District Heritage Trust, 48 pages. A5 size booklet (N7745)

This booklet is a fascinating history of the pubs, taverns, music halls and cinemas in and around the riddings and and Greenhill Lane areas of what is now the Derbyshire town of Alfreton from 1700 onwards. The booklet is illustrated throughout with several small black and white and colour photographs, and sections include the sale of the Rolleston Estate, the Alfreton enclosure and the late Georgian period, the 1830 Beerhouse Act and its impact, mutual improvement and Victorian activities, turn of the century modernisation and tied houses, music hall and cinemas, the inter war years, and more!

Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
