Fairfield Then and Now, by Ann Buckley
Published by the Fairfield Parent-Teacher Association in 1987, 80 pages. Large A4 size booklet (S6692)
This booklet is a fascinating history of Fairfield school in the Hampshire town of Havant, and was published to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the school (it covers the history of the school from 1896 to 1986).From the introduction: Although the school has had various names over the years - the Board School, Havant County School, Havant Primary School and Havant County Infants School, for many people it has always been called 'Fairfield' because of it's location on the historic fair field site.
The book is illustrated throughout with lots of black and white photographs and line drawings, as well as several pages showing floor plans of the school and various buildings over the years.
The condition of the booklet is generally good. The cover has several minor scuffs and blemishes, and some light nibbling and wear along the edges, but the staple spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound
