Ethel MacDonald - Glasgow Woman Anarchist, by Rhona M Hodgart

Published by the Kate Sharpley Library in 2003, 18 pages. A5 size pamphlet (N3869P1)

Ethel MacDonald was a comrade of Guy Aldred's who travelled to Spain to support the anarchist movement during the Spanish revolution. As well as seeing the gains of the revolution, she worked as a radio announcer and was a witness to the Barcelona 'May Days'. During this period she helped comrades to escape the growing Communist repression and was herself then imprisoned by the Communists.

This pamphlet provides a short fascinating account of her role during the Spanish Civil War......

Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover is clean and tidy, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Their is some very faint creasing along the bottom of the pamphlet
