From the introduction: This books intention is not to glorify war, but it written with respect and honour to the men of Bingley who lost their lives during the great war of 1914-1918. It is written to keep the memory for the families of those lost alive, and to place for future reference a permanent record of the great sacrifice made by the 244 men of Bingley whose names are etched in stone forever on the war memorial in Myrtle Park.
