Dunbar - Three Harbours, Fishing and Sea Trade, by R.J.M. Pugh
Booklet published privately by the author in 2012, 30 pages. A5 size booklet (N6168)
Dunbar is a small Scottish town in East Lothian, and lies on the coast around 25 miles east of Edinburgh. This short booklet provides a fascinating (albeit brief) history of the town's harbours, as well as its role in the Scottish Herring industry and coastal trade.
From the introduction: This booklet.... deals with the three harbours of Dunbar, the first having been at Belhaven, then the Old or Cromwell Harbour and the New or Victoria Harbour. The booklet also traces the development of the herring industry, the shortlived whaling industry and sea-going trade between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries.
The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs but is clean and bright, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
