Dunbar - A Garrison Town with Casualties of Three Wars, by R.J.M. Pugh
Booklet published privately by the author in 2012, 34 pages. A5 size booklet (N6163)
Dunbar is a small Scottish town in East Lothian, and lies on the coast around 25 miles east of Edinburgh, and this short booklet provides a fascinating (albeit brief) history of the town's military role.
From the introduction: This booklet..... with the military presence in Dunbar between 1772 and 1955. Of particular interest is the former Castlepark Barracks (Lauderdale House) and the regiments stationed there between 1855 and 1955. Also of interest are the casualties of the Second Boer War, the First World War and the Second World War; every attempt has been made to identify the regiments in which these casualties served, particularly those of the First World War.
The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs but is clean and bright, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
