Cottenham, Cambridgeshire - The War Memorial, by Francis Garrett

Published by the Cottenham Village Society in 1993, 16 pages. A5 size booklet (N3570)

In 1921 a War Memorial was unveiled in the village of Cottenham in Cambridgeshire, with the inscription 'In grateful and honoured memory of the men of Cottenham who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918'. The War Memorial included the names of men from the village who died in the war, with additional names added after the end of the Second World War

This fascinating short booklet contains all those names, with short biographies of the men where information is known, including the regiments they fought in, where they died, and where they are buried. Now out of print for many years, it is a very hard to find publication, and an invaluable reference for people interested in the First World War, and especially the genealogy and family histories of the Cottenham men who died during the conflict

Condition of the booklet is generally excellent. The cover is clean and tidy, the staple spine is intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
